Dubai Ride 2026: Date, Routes, Registration (Open)
Dubai Ride 2026 is on Sunday 1 November, from 6am on a car-free Sheikh Zayed Road. It is free, with a 12km route and a 4km family route, and registration is open now on the Dubai Fitness Challenge website.
Once a year the RTA closes Sheikh Zayed Road, the highway that carries traffic through the middle of Dubai, and fills it with bicycles. Dubai Ride 2026, a part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026 will be that morning: free to enter, not a race, and open to anyone with a roadworthy bike and a helmet. Booking is open, so you can reserve your place now.

Dubai Ride 2026 registration is open
Registration is free. Register on the official Dubai Fitness Challenge site, or follow our step-by-step registration guide below.
Here is everything Dubai has announced since we first published this guide, from the official Dubai Ride page and the official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (both read 2 October 2026), from our own registration on 16 October 2026, and from the organisers' announcements since:
- Road closures and gate times are out (31 October). Sheikh Zayed Road starts closing at about 3am on Sunday 1 November, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard closes from about 5:30am to 10am. The gates let riders in from 6:15am to 7:30am (6:30am at Gate B, Al Satwa, and Gate C, Coca-Cola Arena), and you can arrive from 4am. Riders on the 12km route can also ride the 4km family loop by joining it at Gate E. Road closures
- Metro opens at 3am on ride day (30 October). RTA asks riders to keep at least AED 30 on their nol card for the round trip. Bikes are still not allowed on the Metro. Dubai Ride Metro timings
- Salik peak toll on ride morning (31 October). AED 6 a gate from 6am to 10am. Dubai Mall Grand Parking, for Gates E and F, is free for the first four hours.
- Free Careem Bike rides on ride day (30 October). Careem Bike will give riders their first 120 minutes free on Sunday 1 November, for bikes unlocked from 5am to 8am, with no promo code (announced by Careem and Sarwa on 30 October 2026). Dubai Ride 2026
Dubai Ride 2026 is a cycling event on closed public roads. You ride your own bicycle along Sheikh Zayed Road, the highway that carries traffic through the middle of Dubai, while the cars are kept off it.
You bring the bike and you bring the helmet. Neither one’s handed out, and there are no rental bikes at the event. The official FAQ (2 October 2026) allows road, hybrid, mountain and children’s bikes in good condition, pedal-assisted e-bikes, tandems, child bike seats and trailers. Electric motorbikes, electric scooters and other motorised vehicles are not allowed.
The gates open in the dark. You roll onto tarmac you normally see through a windscreen, with the Museum of the Future on one side and Burj Khalifa ahead of you.
In 2024 Dubai Police supercars led the start alongside a fleet of talabat riders, and in 2025 drummers and DJs played from the roadside while an LED sign flashed each rider’s speed back at them. That morning 40,327 people took part.
Who Organises Dubai Ride 2026
Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council organise Dubai Ride, and Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, a DET body, delivers it on the ground. DP World is the presenting partner. It has held that place in every edition, including the first in 2020.
The official 2026 page calls this the sixth edition. WAM, the UAE state news agency, along with Khaleej Times and Gulf News, all called the 2025 event the sixth, and six rides have been held since 2020. Two official sources disagree, so this article does not number the edition.
Dubai Ride and Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026
Dubai Ride is one of four flagship days inside Dubai Fitness Challenge, the city campaign that asks residents for 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days. The challenge will start on Saturday 31 October 2026 and finish on Sunday 29 November 2026. Dubai Ride will be day two, and it opens the calendar. Dubai Ride 2026 will take place on Sunday 1 November 2026, and the ride will start at 6:00am. Both figures come from the official Dubai Fitness Challenge event page, which is where dubairide.com now sends you.
The official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (read 2 October 2026) gives more detail. It says the routes open at 6:15am, all cyclists are expected to start by 7:30am, and the route stays open until 8am. The event page and the FAQ differ by 15 minutes on the start, so we show both. Every edition from 2023 to 2025 began at 6:15am, and the 2022 ride started earlier, at 5:00am.
Route times for 2026
The official FAQ gives the 2026 times (read 2 October 2026). Routes open at 6:15am. All cyclists are expected to start by 7:30am. The route stays open until 8am. The FAQ recommends arriving between 4am and 6am, with headlights on your bike if you arrive early. In 2025 the gates also opened at 6:15am and closed at 7:30am.
Dubai Ride 2026 Routes
Dubai Ride 2026 will have two routes. The Sheikh Zayed Route is 12km and the Downtown Family Route is 4km. Both are confirmed for 2026. Neither has a public map: the official FAQ says detailed route maps go to registered participants.
Dubai Ride 2026 Sheikh Zayed Route (12 km)
The 12km route is the one that puts you on Sheikh Zayed Road. The official 2026 page describes it as a challenging route for experienced cyclists, passing the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa. You choose your start gate when you register, and the official FAQ says you finish at the finish gate associated with that start gate. The route is not a race, and the FAQ sets a 25km/h speed limit.
Five start gates are published for 2026, lettered A to E in the booking form:
- Gate A: Museum of the Future
- Gate B: Al Satwa
- Gate C: Coca-Cola Arena
- Gate D: Business Bay
- Gate E: Lower Financial Centre Street
How it worked in 2025
The 12km went from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back, including a climb over the Dubai Canal Bridge. Riders were told to finish at the gate they started from, because the course is an out and back. For 2026 the official FAQ says you finish at the finish gate linked to your start gate, and detailed route maps go to registered participants. No public 2026 course map has been published as of 2 October 2026.
Dubai Ride 2026 Downtown Family Route (4 km)
The 4km route is flat and stays in Downtown Dubai. It passes Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa. The official 2026 page calls it suitable for all ages and abilities, the official FAQ describes it as a flat loop for families and children, and this is the route young children ride on their own bikes. It starts from Gate F, Emaar Boulevard / Dubai Mall, which the booking form calls Downtown Dubai. Riders on the 12km route can join it too, through Gate E.
No third route and no new distance have been published for 2026. Speed Laps, the early fast session for over-21s that ran in 2024 and 2025, appears nowhere on the 2026 pages. It hasn’t been confirmed or cancelled, so don’t build your morning around it.

Dubai Ride 2026 Registration
Registration for Dubai Ride 2026 is open, free and compulsory. You book on the official Dubai Fitness Challenge site with a free Dubai Fitness Challenge account: register for Dubai Ride here. It was live by 1 October 2026, the day Dubai announced Dubai Fitness Challenge registration (the official FAQ dates sign-up from 28 September), and What’s On reported it open the same day.
How to register for Dubai Ride 2026, step by step
These steps follow a real registration made by a member of our staff on 16 October 2026.
- Open the [Dubai Ride registration page](https://www.dubaifitnesschallenge.com/en/registrations/registration-ride). It is the Register now button on the official Dubai Ride page.
- Register for the Dubai Fitness Challenge first. The site asks you to do this before you can book the ride. Fill in your name, date of birth, email address and phone number, and set a password. You must be 18 or older. If you already have an account, log in and go to step 5.
- Verify your email address. The site sends you a verification email. Open it and click the verify link. If it does not arrive, check your junk folder.
- Log in with the same email and password. When you click verify, the site asks you to log in. Use the email address and password you just registered with.
- Wait for the Dubai Ride form to open. Once you log in, the Dubai Ride registration form opens automatically, so you do not need to look for it.
- Choose whether to add a child. If you are riding alone, skip this. If you are bringing children, add each one, up to three. For anyone under 18, you accept the registration waiver on their behalf.
- Enter an emergency contact, and a group code if you have one. For the emergency contact, give their name, their relationship to you and their phone number. Choose someone who is not riding. Leave the group code empty unless your company or club gave you one.
- Select your route, then your start gate. Choose 12km or 4km, and the form automatically shows the starting gates for that route. Select one. The 12km Sheikh Zayed Route starts from Gate A (Museum of the Future), Gate B (Al Satwa), Gate C (Coca-Cola Arena), Gate D (Business Bay) or Gate E (Lower Financial Centre Street). The 4km Downtown Family Route starts from Gate F, Emaar Boulevard / Dubai Mall, which the form calls Downtown Dubai. To ride with friends, everyone picks the same gate.
- Review your details and confirm. Check every name, the route and the gate before you confirm, because you cannot change them later.
- Save your confirmation. The last page shows your registration number and a QR code, and gives you a PDF to download. Download it, as the site suggests: you need the QR code to collect your bib, and someone else can collect for you with it.
- Collect your bib at Zabeel Park, 28 to 31 October. Pick up your T-shirt at the same time, if you chose one. The last day is Saturday 31 October, from 8am to 11pm.
A few things to know before you book:
- The 30x30 sign-up is not a Dubai Ride place. Signing up for the 30-day challenge, which our Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026 guide explains, uses the same account, but you still have to book Dubai Ride separately.
- You cannot amend your registration. If you need to make any changes, such as your route or start gate, cancel your registration in your Dubai Fitness Challenge account and register again.
- dubairide.com now redirects to the official Dubai Ride page. The standalone site has been retired, so ignore any old bookmarks to its register pages.
- Book only on the official site. Entry is free, so nobody should ask you to pay. No closing date has ever been published for Dubai Ride, but bib collection runs only from 28 to 31 October, so booking early gives you the most time to plan that trip.

Booking has opened about a month before race day for three years running. In 2026 you could register from 28 September, according to the official FAQ. In 2025 it opened on Friday 3 October, and in 2024 on Thursday 10 October.
How to Join Dubai Ride 2026
Joining Dubai Ride 2026 takes three stages: register (the steps are above), collect your bib at Zabeel Park between 28 and 31 October, and arrive at your gate between 4am and 6am on 1 November with your bike, your helmet and your bib. Routes open at 6:15am and all cyclists are expected to start by 7:30am. Who can register, and how bib collection works, are below.
Who Can Register for Dubai Ride 2026
The official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (read 2 October 2026) sets out who registers, and how:
- Children. Parents and legal guardians can register up to three children.
- Riders under 18. A parent or guardian accepts the registration waiver for them during registration, and they must be accompanied by an adult on the day.
- Riders aged 18 and over. They register individually and accept the waiver in their own name. There is no group registration.
- People of Determination. Welcome on both routes, with a dedicated support team, and details are given during registration. The event page lists dedicated support entry points for adapted bikes, handcycles and tandem bikes. In 2025 there was an email address for route detail and the location of that start area, and it has not been republished for 2026.
The FAQ says Dubai Ride is open to all ages, and asks parents to make sure younger riders can complete the route they choose. In 2021 the long route was open to riders of 10 and above, and children as young as five rode the 4km on their own bikes.
Dubai Ride 2026 Bib Collection
You’ll collect your bib before race day, not on the morning. For 2026 the official FAQ (2 October 2026) names the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park, from 28 to 31 October 2026. The organisers' 5 October announcement names Gate 2 of Zabeel Park. The last day is Saturday 31 October, from 8am to 11pm. The rider email suggests the Metro Red Line to Max station to avoid traffic. If you drive, follow the event signs to the parking, which costs AED 10. It’s a numbered bib, and every participant has to wear one.
In 2025 bibs were collected at the 30×30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park, from 29 October to 1 November. The 2026 collection is at the same village, from 28 to 31 October.
How it worked in 2025
Bibs were handed out at the Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park, from 29 October to 1 November, with the ride on 2 November. Hours were 16:00 to 23:00 on the Wednesday and Thursday, 12:00 to 23:00 on the Friday and 08:00 to 23:00 on the Saturday. You brought your registration QR code. For 2026 the official FAQ confirms Zabeel Park again, from 28 to 31 October 2026. Zabeel Park was also the venue in 2024. In 2026 the hours are 4pm to 11pm on 28 and 29 October, 12pm to 11pm on 30 October and 8am to 11pm on Saturday 31 October.
A few more collection rules come from the official FAQ (2 October 2026):
- Your T-shirt. A T-shirt is available to riders who selected one during registration, and you collect it with your bib.
- Someone else can collect for you. They need your registration QR code.
- No bib, no ride. If you lose your bib, re-register and collect a new one.
Speed Laps carried its own separate bib in 2025. Riders who did the fast session and then the main ride carried both of them. Speed Laps has not been announced for 2026.
Dubai Ride 2026 Fees
Dubai Ride 2026 will be free. The official 2026 page calls it a free event. The Government of Dubai Media Office has called it the region’s largest community cycling event since 2022.

What Dubai Ride 2026 Free Entry Does Not Cover
Free entry covers the ride itself. These are the costs it doesn’t cover.
- Your bike and your helmet. Both are yours to supply. The official FAQ makes the helmet mandatory for everyone, including children in bike seats or trailers, and there are no rental bikes at the event.
- Salik. On ride morning, 1 November 2026, Salik charges its peak toll of AED 6 a gate from 6am to 10am, as it did in 2025.
- Parking. Dubai Mall Grand Parking, for Gates E and F, is free for the first four hours and is paid through Salik after that. Parking at Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central, for Gate A, is paid. Gates B and D have no parking.
- Metro fare. Standard nol fares apply. RTA asks riders to keep at least AED 30 on their nol card for the round trip. Bikes are not allowed on the Metro.
- A second trip across town. The bib and T-shirt are collected at Zabeel Park between 28 and 31 October, not on the morning. Someone else can go for you with your registration QR code.
- Your own bottle. Mai Dubai hydration stations line the routes in 2026, but the FAQ asks you to bring a filled, refillable water bottle.
Dubai Ride 2026 Road Closures
Sheikh Zayed Road starts closing at about 3am on Sunday 1 November 2026, the official rider email of 31 October says. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, the road round Burj Khalifa, closes from about 5:30am to 10am. Roads reopen bit by bit after the ride, once they are clear.
The road you'd drive on is the course, so the closure matters even if you never touch a bike.

The exact stretches and the roads to use instead have not been published for 2026. In 2025 these roads were closed from about 3am to 10am, and RTA pointed drivers to Upper Financial Centre Road, Zabeel Palace Road, Al Wasl Road, Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street:

RTA publishes the closed segments, not a junction-by-junction list. No exit-by-exit closure has ever been issued for Dubai Ride, in any year.
If you are driving to the start
Keep your bike inside the car or on a rack at the back. Dubai Mall Grand Parking, entered from Upper Financial Centre Road, serves Gates E and F. You may have to stay parked until all the cyclists have cleared the roads. Our Dubai Ride route guide has the parking and entry time for each gate.
How to Get to Dubai Ride 2026
You’ll reach Dubai Ride 2026 on the bike or in a car. The official FAQ says bikes are not allowed on the Dubai Metro, and parking near the start gates is limited. The Metro opens at 3am on ride day for supporters and riders who rent a bike near the start. RTA and Careem made bike rental free for participants in 2025, and RTA noted that Careem Bike stations sit close to the event entrances. For 2026, Careem Bike will give riders their first 120 minutes free on Sunday 1 November, for bikes unlocked from 5am to 8am, with no promo code (announced by Careem and Sarwa on 30 October 2026).
The 2025 Careem offer waived the extra-time fee on rides over 45 minutes inside that window, and card details were taken as security with no rental charge applied. It was the fourth year of that partnership. RTA is an association partner again in 2026. This year, Careem and Sarwa have announced the first 120 minutes free on ride day.

Metro from 3am on 1 November
RTA will open the Metro at 3am on Sunday 1 November 2026. It has not given a closing time; in 2025 the Metro ran to midnight. Keep at least AED 30 on your nol card. Our Dubai Ride Metro timings page has the nearest station to each gate.
Dubai Ride 2026 Rules and What to Bring
Dubai Ride 2026 will have a short list of rules, and most of them are about the bike.
- Bring a fully operational bike. Road, hybrid, mountain and children’s bikes in good condition are allowed, along with pedal-assisted e-bikes, tandems, child bike seats and trailers. There are no rental bikes at the event.
- No motorised vehicles. Electric motorbikes, electric scooters and other motorised vehicles are not allowed.
- Wear a helmet. It is mandatory for everyone, including children in bike seats or trailers, and it has never been supplied.
- Wear your numbered bib. It must be attached, and there is no ride without it. In 2025 riders doing Speed Laps carried a second one.
- Keep to 25km/h. The routes have a 25km/h speed limit. Follow the marshals, who wear green and blue jerseys.
- Bring the rest of your kit. The Dubai Ride T-shirt, a filled water bottle and closed sports shoes. Fit headlights if you arrive early.
- Look after children. Fill in their wristbands with your phone number, so the event team can bring you back together if you get separated.
- Be easy to see. The organisers suggest bright or reflective clothes.
- Leave some things at home. There is no bag drop and there are no changing facilities, so skip large bags. Pets are not allowed.
On the route there are Mai Dubai hydration stations, fixed and mobile bike mechanics, and medical support (call 901). Toilets are at the start and finish gates.
The official 2026 page states the point of the morning plainly. This is a community event, it isn’t a timed race, and the focus is on enjoying it. There’s no result, no position and no finishing time.
There are prizes this year, but none of them is for speed. Dress Your Ride, a new competition announced on 17 October 2026, awards Dh10,000 in each of four categories: best overall bike, most creative theme, best family costume and best group costume. To enter, decorate your bike, wear a costume, or do both, then pose for the official event photographers on the day, who capture the entries. No other entry step has been announced, and neither has the way the winners will be named.
Registration carries a waiver. The official FAQ says riders aged 18 and over accept it in their own name, and a parent or guardian accepts it for under-18s. The waiver text sits behind the log-in, so we have not read it (2 October 2026).

Dubai Ride Participation Numbers
Dubai Ride has set a record in every edition held. More than 20,000 people rode the first one in 2020, and 40,327 rode in 2025.

Two caveats sit under that table: every figure comes from the organisers, and none has been audited independently. The 2022 release also looked back at 2021 as around 33,000, while the 2021 release gave 32,750, and we use 32,750.
The field has roughly doubled in six editions.
Dubai Ride 2026 Details Not Yet Announced
As of 31 October 2026 nearly everything is out: the times, both routes, the six gates with their entry times and parking, bib collection, the road closures, the Metro opening time and the Salik rate. These details are still missing:
- The Metro closing time on ride day. RTA has given only the 3am opening. It was midnight in 2024 and 2025.
- When Sheikh Zayed Road reopens. The rider email says roads reopen bit by bit after the ride. In 2025 it was about 10am.
- A public route map. Detailed maps go only to registered riders.
- Whether Speed Laps returns. The early fast session of 2024 and 2025 is not on the 2026 pages.

Yes. Dubai Ride 2026 registration was open by 1 October 2026, the day Dubai announced Dubai Fitness Challenge registration. The official FAQ dates sign-up from 28 September. Register at dubaifitnesschallenge.com/en/registrations/registration-ride. The official Dubai Ride page is at dubaifitnesschallenge.com, press Register and log in to a free Dubai Fitness Challenge account. dubairide.com now redirects to that page. Signing up for the 30-day challenge does not book your place on the ride, so make the separate Dubai Ride booking as well.
How do I register for Dubai Ride 2026?
Open the registration page at dubaifitnesschallenge.com/en/registrations/registration-ride. The site first asks you to register for the Dubai Fitness Challenge with your name, date of birth, email address, phone number and a password. Verify your email, then log in with the same email and password, and the Dubai Ride form opens automatically. Choose whether to add a child (up to three), enter an emergency contact and a group code if you have one, then select the 12km or 4km route and one of the start gates the form shows. Review and confirm. The last page gives your registration number, a QR code and a PDF to download. You cannot amend a registration, so to change anything, cancel and register again.
Where do I collect my Dubai Ride 2026 bib?
At the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park, from 28 to 31 October 2026, according to the official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (read 2 October 2026). The last day is Saturday 31 October, from 8am to 11pm. You collect your T-shirt at the same time if you selected one. Someone else can collect for you with your registration QR code. There is no ride without a bib, and if you lose it you re-register and collect a new one.
Is Dubai Ride 2026 free?
Yes. The official 2026 page calls it a free event. Free entry covers the ride, the numbered bib, a T-shirt if you selected one at registration, medical cover (call 901), policing from Dubai Police, Mai Dubai hydration stations and bike mechanics on the route. It does not cover the bike or the helmet, which are yours to bring, and there are no rental bikes at the event. It does not cover Salik, which charges AED 6 a gate from 6am to 10am on ride morning, standard nol fares, paid parking, or the separate trip to Zabeel Park to collect your bib. Bring a filled, refillable water bottle.
What are the Dubai Ride 2026 routes?
There will be two. The Sheikh Zayed Route is 12km, and the official 2026 page calls it a challenging route for experienced cyclists, passing the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa. It has five start gates for 2026: Gate A Museum of the Future, Gate B Al Satwa, Gate C Coca-Cola Arena, Gate D Business Bay and Gate E Lower Financial Centre Street. The Downtown Family Route is 4km, flat, starts from Gate F Emaar Boulevard / Dubai Mall, and passes Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa. You finish at the finish gate linked to your start gate. Detailed route maps go to registered participants, and no public map has been published. In 2025 the 12km went from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back.
Do I need my own bike and helmet for Dubai Ride 2026?
Yes to both. The official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (read 2 October 2026) says you need a fully operational bike, a helmet and your attached bib, and there are no rental bikes at the event. The helmet is mandatory for everyone, including children in bike seats or trailers. Road, hybrid, mountain and children's bikes, pedal-assisted e-bikes, tandems, child bike seats and trailers are allowed. Electric motorbikes, electric scooters and other motorised vehicles are not. Bikes are not allowed on the Dubai Metro. RTA and Careem made bike rental free for participants in 2025 with the code DR25. For 2026, Careem Bike gives riders the first 120 minutes free on 1 November, for bikes unlocked from 5am to 8am.
Can children take part in Dubai Ride 2026?
Yes. The official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (read 2 October 2026) says parents and legal guardians can register up to three children. A parent or guardian accepts the waiver for under-18s, and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. The ride is open to all ages, as long as younger riders can complete the route they choose. In 2021 the long route was open to riders of 10 and above, and children as young as five rode the 4km on their own bikes. The 4km Downtown Family Route is the one built for them, and in 2025 it carried mascots and a station where children decorated their bikes.
Which roads close for Dubai Ride 2026, and when?
The official rider email of 31 October 2026 says the main Sheikh Zayed Road closures begin at about 3am on Sunday 1 November, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard closes from about 5:30am to 10am. Roads reopen bit by bit after the ride, once they are clear. The exact stretches and other roads to use have not been published for 2026. In 2025 Sheikh Zayed Road closed between Trade Centre Roundabout and Al Hadiqa Road Bridge, and RTA suggested Upper Financial Centre Road, Zabeel Palace Road, Al Wasl Road, Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street instead.
