Dubai Ride 2026 Route: Map, Starting Point, Gates and Road Closures

Dubai Ride 2026 on Sunday 1 November has two routes: a 12km ride along Sheikh Zayed Road and back, with five start gates, and a flat 4km loop in Downtown Dubai. Routes open at 6:15am and the last start is 7:30am. RTA has not announced road closures or Metro hours yet.

The Dubai Ride route for 2026 is confirmed. Dubai Ride has two routes again: 12km on Sheikh Zayed Road, with five start gates, and a flat 4km family loop in Downtown Dubai.

What is still missing is the map. The organisers send the detailed route map only to registered riders, and RTA has not yet announced the road closures or the Metro hours for that morning. This page shows you everything that is known now, and we update it as soon as RTA publishes its plan.

In this guide you will find a sketch of both routes, the six start gates and how to reach them.

Dubai Ride Route Map

There is no public route map for 2026. The official FAQ says "detailed route maps will be shared with registered participants". So if you have registered, look in your confirmation email and in your Dubai Fitness Challenge account first.

If you have not registered yet, the sketch below shows what the official pages say about both routes. We drew it from the route descriptions and from the roads RTA closed in 2025, so treat the gate positions as approximate.

The two routes do not meet. You choose one route when you book, and you cannot switch on the day. If you booked the wrong one, cancel in your Dubai Fitness Challenge account and register again, because a booking cannot be edited. Our Dubai Ride registration guide shows how.

Dubai Ride 2026 Route #1: The 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route

The 12km route puts you on Sheikh Zayed Road itself, with all its lanes closed to cars. The official page calls it the route for more experienced cyclists, and it passes the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa.

The organisers described the same route in 2025 as a ride from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back, with a climb over the Dubai Canal bridge. That climb is the only real hill, and it is the reason the 12km is not suggested for small children.

There is a 25km/h speed limit on the route, and it is not a race. Mechanics, water stations and medical teams are along the way, as our main Dubai Ride guide explains.

Dubai Ride 2026 Route #2: The 4km Downtown Family Route

The 4km route is a flat loop in Downtown Dubai, around Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa. In 2025 it followed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, the road that circles the Burj Khalifa area.

This is the route for young children and first-time riders. In 2024 and 2025 the organisers said that children whose bikes have stabilisers could ride only this route. The 2026 FAQ does not repeat that rule, but it says the 4km is "designed for children and families".

Starting Point and Gates

On the 12km route you start at one of five gates, which you choose when you book. The official FAQ lists them as Museum of the Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Financial Street. The 4km route starts at Gate F, Downtown Dubai, as the official booking form names it. The booking form also uses the letters A to E for the five 12km gates.

You also finish at a gate. The FAQ asks you to finish at the finish gate linked to your start gate, so you come out where your car or your friends are waiting.

Gate A, B, C, D and E: what the letters mean

The 2026 booking form gives every gate a letter and a name: Gate A Museum of the Future, Gate B Al Satwa, Gate C Coca-Cola Arena, Gate D Business Bay and Gate E Lower Financial Street for the 12km route, and Gate F Downtown Dubai for the 4km route. The letters are the same as in 2023, so a "Gate B" from an older guide is still Al Satwa.

The FAQ uses only the names, so check both the letter and the name in your booking confirmation.

Which gate to choose

Pick the gate that is easiest to reach from your home, because all five are on the same 12km route. Here is how to think about it:

  • Coming from Sharjah, Deira or the north: Museum of the Future is at the top of the route, near Trade Centre Roundabout.
  • Coming from Jumeirah or Satwa: Al Satwa and Coca-Cola Arena are on that side of Sheikh Zayed Road.
  • Coming from Business Bay, Downtown or the Al Khail Road side: Business Bay and Lower Financial Street are closest.
  • Riding with friends: the FAQ says to book the same start gate and agree a meeting point before you arrive.

How to reach your gate

Most riders come by car or ride their bike to the gate. Bikes are not allowed on the Dubai Metro, so the Metro is useful only for people who are not bringing a bike, such as supporters or riders who will rent a Careem Bike near the start.

Before you leave home:

  1. Open your confirmation email and find your gate and the route map.
  2. Check RTA's closure plan for 1 November once it is out. Sheikh Zayed Road itself will be closed, so you reach the gate from the side roads.
  3. Leave by 4:30am or 5am. The FAQ asks you to arrive between 4am and 6am, and the queue at the gate grows after that.
  4. Switch on your bike lights, because it is dark until about 6am.

If you want to rent a bike for the morning, our guide to Dubai Ride bike rental covers Careem Bike and bike shops.

FAQs

Can I start at a different gate from the one I booked?

The FAQ says a booking cannot be changed. To change your gate or your route, cancel the booking in your Dubai Fitness Challenge account and register again.

Is there a Gate F at Dubai Ride?

Yes. The official booking form names Gate F, Downtown Dubai, as the start of the 4km Downtown Family Route. The 12km route uses Gates A to E.

Where does the 4km Downtown Family Route start?

At Gate F, Downtown Dubai, which is how the official booking form names it. The exact spot will be on the detailed map that registered riders receive. The route passes Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa.

Can I ride both routes?

No. You book one route and one start gate, and both routes run at the same time, from 6:15am to 8am.

How long is Sheikh Zayed Road closed for Dubai Ride?

About seven hours in 2025, from 3am or 3:30am until 10am or 10:30am, depending on the report. The 2026 times are not announced yet.
