Short version: we measure which pages get read, we ask before we do it, and you can say no without losing anything.

Who is responsible
Dubai Fast Living is published by BlueMint Services FZCO, United Arab Emirates, which is the data controller for everything described here. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to hello@dubaifastliving.com.
A postal address for written notice is available on request.
What we do not do
- There are no advertising trackers and no third-party cookies.
- We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone.
How we measure
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which articles people actually read. Google uses your IP address to work out roughly where you are and then discards it — GA4 does not store it. It sets cookies in your browser.
Your choice
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, none of this loads until you agree. The script is not merely told to behave — it is not requested at all until you press Accept, and pressing Reject is exactly as quick.
Everywhere else it is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time. Your choice is remembered for 6 months in a cookie called dfl_consent, which holds nothing but that choice and its date.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter subscription
Your email address, the sections you picked, and a record of your consent — the date, your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string and the country Cloudflare reports.
Why: To send you the email you asked for, and to be able to show that you asked for it.
Legal basis: Consent. You confirm by clicking a link before anything is sent.
How long: Until you unsubscribe. The consent record is kept for two years after that, because it is the evidence that the subscription was legitimate.
Enquiries and directory submissions
Your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to put in the form — company, website, phone or area, and your message. The same IP, user-agent and country are recorded.
Why: To reply to you, and to review a directory submission.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests — you contacted us and expect an answer.
How long: Two years from the last exchange, then deleted.
Server logs
Cloudflare records requests to the site, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
Why: To keep the site up and to block attacks.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests.
How long: By Cloudflare, to their retention schedule. We do not build our own log store.
What your browser stores
The site keeps a few small preferences in your own browser. These never leave your device, are not sent to us, and are not cookies — nothing here is readable by any other site.

Clearing your browser’s site data removes all of them. Nothing breaks; you simply get the defaults again.
Who else touches it
We use as few services as the site can run on. These are all of them:
Cloudflare, Inc.
Hosting, the database, file storage, bot protection and the image pipeline.
Databases and files are stored in Western Europe. The site itself runs at whichever Cloudflare location is nearest you, which for most readers here is Dubai.
Zoho Corporation (ZeptoMail)
Sends the confirmation and unsubscribe emails.
Zoho’s own infrastructure.
Google LLC
Counts page views.
Google’s own infrastructure, including the United States. Nothing loads until you agree, and never at all if you refuse.
Microsoft Bing, Yandex and other IndexNow participants
Told when a page changes, so it can be re-crawled.
Receives the address of the page only. No personal data is sent.
When the newsletter itself starts being sent, it will go through a dedicated email platform, and this page will name it before the first send.
Where your data is
The database and the files are stored in Western Europe. The site itself runs on Cloudflare’s network at whichever location is nearest you. This means data about readers in the UAE is transferred to and stored in the European Union, and data about readers in the UK and EU is handled by a company based in the United States. Cloudflare’s standard contractual clauses cover those transfers.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to do any of the following, and we will do it within one month:
- See it. A copy of everything we hold about you.
- Correct it. Fix anything wrong.
- Delete it. We will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
- Take it. A machine-readable copy you can hand to someone else.
- Stop it. Withdraw consent or object to our use of it. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, and using it is enough — you never have to ask.
If you are in the UK or the EU and you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
Children
This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we will remove them.
If this page changes
The date at the top moves when the wording does. If a change materially affects you — a new service handling your data, a new use for it — subscribers are told by email before it takes effect, not after.
