Here is everything Dubai has announced since we first published this guide, from the official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ and event pages (read 2 October 2026):

• Dubai Fitness Challenge sign-up is open. It opened from 28 September 2026, according to the FAQ, and Dubai announced it on 1 October. How to register
• Dubai Run registration has not opened yet. There is no Register button on the official Dubai Run page or on dubairun.com, although Dubai Ride booking is live.
• Register online, free, then collect your bib. Collection is at the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village, Zabeel Park, from 2 to 21 November 2026. How to register
• The T-shirt is now a choice in the form. Only participants who select one during registration get one. How to register

When does Dubai Run 2026 registration open?

Dubai Run 2026 registration has not opened yet (checked 2 October 2026), and the organisers have not announced a date. Based on past years, expect it in mid to late October 2026, about four to five weeks before the run. The Dubai Media Office announced registration open on 17 October in 2023, and in 2025 it was open by late October.

Register as soon as it opens. The run is free, and there was no published cap on numbers in 2025. In 2026 the T-shirt is an option you select in the form. The FAQ does not say whether T-shirt numbers are limited, but in 2025 they had all been allocated by 27 October, so booking early is the safest way to get one.

How to register for Dubai Run, step by step

Registering for Dubai Run is done online, and it is free. These steps follow the official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQ (read 2 October 2026) and the Dubai Ride booking, which is already open. Booking had not opened on 2 October, so we will confirm each step when it does.

1. Create or log in to your Dubai Fitness Challenge account at dubaifitnesschallenge.com/en/login. You can do this now. Avoid third-party "registration" pages.
2. Add your children under My family. Parents and legal guardians can register up to three children.
3. When booking opens, book Dubai Run from the official Dubai Run page. It is likely to ask you to log in to your Dubai Fitness Challenge account, as Dubai Ride does. Each participant registers individually.
4. Choose 5km or 10km. To run with friends or family, choose the same route and start time.
5. Choose an arrival time slot. The FAQ says you arrive during the time slot you select at registration.
6. Choose a T-shirt if you want one. Only participants who select a T-shirt during registration get one.
7. Accept the waiver. A parent or guardian accepts it for anyone under 18.
8. Save your confirmation and QR code.
9. Collect your bib and T-shirt at the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village, Zabeel Park, between 2 and 21 November 2026. Collection times are shared with registered participants.

Is Dubai Run free?

Yes. Dubai Run is free to enter, and it has been free in every edition since the first in 2019. Registration is still required: the official FAQ says all participants must register online, and nobody can take part without a bib. The Dubai Media Office called the 2025 edition "the world's largest free community run".

Should you choose 5km or 10km?

The 5km route suits a broad range of people, including families, beginners and walkers; the 10km route is for experienced runners. You choose one when you register.

Both routes are flat and on closed roads. It is not a race, so you can run or walk at a comfortable pace. The run starts at 6:30am, the start line closes at 8am and the finish is at 9am.

Registering children and families

Parents and legal guardians can register up to three children for Dubai Run 2026, according to the official FAQ (read 2 October 2026). Children of all ages can take part. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult, and the parent or guardian accepts the registration waiver for them. Each child needs their own bib.

Each participant registers individually, so there is no group booking. To run together as a family, register everyone for the same route and start time. Strollers are allowed on the 5km. You can add children under My family in your Dubai Fitness Challenge account now.

Can tourists and UK visitors register?

In 2025 the Dubai Run form did not require an Emirates ID or UAE residence. The 2026 form is not visible yet, so we cannot confirm what it will ask. If you are visiting Dubai in late November, register online before you travel and plan to collect your bib in person at Zabeel Park between 2 and 21 November. There is no collection on race day.

For UK visitors, 22 November 2026 falls in the run-up to the busy December season, so book flights and hotels early if the run is the reason for your trip.

Is the Dubai Fitness Challenge sign-up the same as Dubai Run registration?

No. They are separate bookings, but they are likely to use the same account this year. The Dubai Fitness Challenge sign-up ("Register & Win", at dubaifitnesschallenge.com/en/login), open from 28 September according to the official FAQ, enters you in the month-long 30x30 challenge from 31 October to 29 November 2026. Dubai Run needs its own booking, with its own route, time slot and bib. In 2025 that booking was a separate form on dubairun.com, which on 2 October 2026 showed only the date, partner logos and an Event Waiver link. For 2026 the FAQ says you cancel a Dubai Run registration "by logging into your Dubai Fitness Challenge account", and Dubai Ride's Register button, open now for the ride on Sunday 1 November, asks you to log in to that account. So Dubai Run booking is likely to work the same way, but this is not confirmed.

What happens after you register?

After you register for Dubai Run, you collect your bib, and your T-shirt if you selected one, at the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park between 2 and 21 November 2026. Collection times are shared with registered participants. Bring your bib and the Dubai Run T-shirt on race day; the bib is mandatory.

You can cancel a registration in your Dubai Fitness Challenge account, but you cannot change it. To change your route, cancel, register again and collect a new bib.

Can you register on the day?

No. There is no on-the-day registration for Dubai Run. Only registered participants wearing their bibs can join the start, and bibs are handed out before race day.

Getting there on race day

Dubai Run 2026 starts at 6:30am on Sunday 22 November. The official FAQ recommends the Dubai Metro: Dubai World Trade Centre station for the 5km and Emirates Towers station for the 10km. Have at least AED 15 on your Nol card or app. There are taxi drop-off and pick-up points near the start and finish lines. Parking is limited, and registered runners receive route maps with parking options. Roads close on 22 November, so watch RTA's official channels. There is no bag drop and no changing facilities, and pets are not allowed. In 2025 the Metro opened at 3am on race day; 2026 Metro hours have not been announced.
