Dubai Ride Bike Rental 2026: How to Get a Careem Bike or Rent One for the Day
No bike will be handed out at Dubai Ride 2026, and no free Careem offer has been announced. You can ride your own bike, rent a Careem Bike from AED 19, or rent one from a bike shop such as First Ride or Wolfi's. Any normal bike or pedal-assisted e-bike is allowed, and every rider wears a helmet.
Dubai Ride bike rental is up to you this year. The organisers do not hand out bikes, and no free Careem Bike offer has been announced for 2026. Dubai Ride is on Sunday 1 November, so you have time to sort out a bike now.
The good news is that a bike is easy to find. You can ride your own, unlock a Careem Bike for AED 19, or rent one from a bike shop. This guide shows you each option, what it costs and how to book it.

Do You Get a Free Bike for Dubai Ride 2026?
No. You do not get a free bike at Dubai Ride 2026. The official FAQ says: "There are no rental bikes provided at the event." It asks riders who need a bike to contact a bike shop or a rental company in Dubai.
In 2023, 2024 and 2025, RTA and Careem gave riders a free Careem Bike for the morning. That offer has not been announced for 2026. Last year it came on 27 October, so it may still come. If it does, we will add the promo code here. Until then, plan to bring or rent a bike.
Which Bikes Can You Ride at Dubai Ride?
You can ride almost any normal bicycle, as long as it works well. The official FAQ lists what is allowed and what is not. A pedal-assisted e-bike is fine, because its motor helps only while you pedal. Anything with a motor that moves without pedalling is not allowed.
Check your bike the day before. The brakes should work and the tyres should have air. If you arrive before sunrise, fit lights to the bike. Mechanics on the route can help with small repairs.
So you need to arrange a bike yourself. If you have one, great. If not, do not worry: here are four good options.
Option 1: Ride your own bike
Your own bike is the easiest and cheapest choice. You know how it rides, and there is no rental clock.
Plan how the bike gets to your start gate. Bikes are not allowed on the Dubai Metro, so ride there, carry it on a bike rack, or put it in a car. Our Dubai Ride route guide shows where each gate is.
Option 2: Rent a Careem Bike
A Careem Bike is allowed at Dubai Ride, because it is a pedal-assisted e-bike. You need the Careem app, a payment card and your own helmet.
Careem sells several passes. For one morning, two make sense: the single trip pass at AED 19 and the one day pass at AED 29.
Watch the 45-minute limit. Each ride is free for up to 45 minutes. After that, Careem charges AED 10 for every extra 30 minutes. On ride day you cannot dock the bike halfway, because there are no stations inside the closed route. A long morning adds up, so budget about AED 70 to 80 if you will keep the bike for three hours.
This is how to rent one:
- Download the Careem app and add a card the day before. Careem holds a small amount on your card when a ride starts, for example AED 50, and releases what you do not use.
- Open Bike in the app and look at the map. It shows the stations near you, with the number of bikes in each.
- Choose your pass. Pick the single trip or the one day pass. If a free Dubai Ride code is announced, enter it here.
- Scan the QR code on the bike. Avoid a bike with a red light or a low battery.
- Wait for the green light and the beep. Then lift the bike out of the dock.
- Ride to your start gate with your helmet on and your bib attached. Arrive between 4am and 6am.
- Dock the bike at any station after the ride. Wait for the green light and the beep. Your trip, and the charge, keeps running until the bike is locked.
One Careem account can unlock up to four bikes, so you can unlock bikes for friends. Each bike carries one rider only, so you cannot put a child on it. Never leave a Careem Bike at the gate: Careem charges up to AED 3,000 for a bike that is not docked.
Option 3: Rent from First Ride Bicycles
First Ride rents hybrid, road, mountain and children's bikes, and it delivers them free anywhere in Dubai. It is a good choice for a family, because Careem has no children's bikes.
These were the daily prices on 15 October:
- Hybrid bike: AED 50 a day
- Children's bike: AED 50 a day
- Road bike: AED 100 to AED 300 a day, depending on the model
You need your Emirates ID, or a passport if you are a tourist. You also pay a deposit, which you get back when you return the bike. You can cancel up to 24 hours before for a full refund. Helmets are sold as an extra when you book.
You can also collect the bike yourself. The warehouse opens at 5am every day, and there is a rental point at Al Qudra.
Option 4: Rent from Wolfi's Bike Shop
Wolfi's rents carbon road bikes for AED 200 a day. It suits riders who want a fast bike for the 12km route. A helmet costs AED 50 extra.
Each rental comes with front and rear lights, a bottle cage, a spare tube and a pump. The lights help, because the ride starts in the dark.
Wolfi's does not deliver. You collect the bike from its store in Al Quoz from 2pm, and you return it by 12pm on the last day. For Dubai Ride, that means you collect it on Saturday 31 October and return it on Sunday after the ride. Ask how many days you will pay for when you book. Bring your Emirates ID or passport and a credit card for the deposit.
Book a shop bike a few days early. Many riders look for a bike for the same morning, so common sizes may run out.
Dubai Ride Helmet Rules
Every rider must wear a helmet, with no exceptions. This includes children in bike seats and trailers. If you do not have a helmet, you cannot ride.
Rented bikes usually come without one, so plan ahead:
- Careem does not give you a helmet. Bring your own.
- First Ride sells helmets as an extra when you book.
- Wolfi's rents a helmet for AED 50.
Dubai Ride is open to all ages. Riders under 18 must ride with an adult, and young children are best on the 4km family route.
FAQs
What is the Careem promo code for Dubai Ride 2026?
There is none yet. The codes were DR24 in 2024 and DR25 in 2025, and each worked only on ride morning. We will add the 2026 code if RTA and Careem announce one.
Can I take my bike on the Dubai Metro to Dubai Ride?
No. The official FAQ says bikes are not allowed on the Dubai Metro. Ride to the gate, drive, or get a lift.
Do I still need to register if I rent a bike?
Yes. Every rider needs a Dubai Ride booking and a bib. Bibs are collected at Zabeel Park from 28 to 31 October, as our bib collection guide explains.
Where do I leave a rented bike after Dubai Ride?
There is no bike park at the event. Dock a Careem Bike at any station, and return a shop bike as agreed when you booked.
