Global Village has confirmed its Diwali drone show for 2026: 600 drones will fly on Sunday 8 November at 8pm. The show is the big moment of five days of Diwali at the park, from 6 to 10 November, and it is the only Diwali drone show announced for Diwali in Dubai this year. You don't pay extra to watch it. Your normal entry ticket covers it.

Diwali Drone Show Date and Timing at Global Village

The Diwali drone show will start at 8pm on Sunday 8 November 2026. That is Diwali night itself, the evening of Lakshmi Puja. The show will happen once, at 8pm only, so there is no later show to catch if you are running late.

The park will open at 4pm as usual. On Diwali night it will close at midnight, after the show. Global Village has not said how long the show will last. Drone shows like this one are usually short, so be in your spot a few minutes before 8pm.

What if the weather is bad?

Drones need calm air. If the wind is strong, a drone show can start late or be called off. Global Village has not announced a back-up date. On the afternoon of 8 November, check @globalvillageuae on Instagram before you leave home.

What the Diwali Drone Show Will Look Like

A drone show is a picture drawn with light. Hundreds of small drones, each with a coloured light, fly together and form shapes in the night sky. A computer moves them, so the sky looks like a giant moving screen. There is no bang and no smoke, so it does not frighten small children.

For Diwali, the 600 drones will form shapes inspired by the Festival of Lights. Global Village has not shown the designs yet. You will see them for the first time on the night.

Want an idea of the size? Global Village flew 600 drones at the opening of this season on 14 October 2026. This visitor's video shows that night, so you can see how 600 drones fill the sky.

Best Spot to Watch the Global Village Drone Show

Stand on open ground near the Stunt Arena and the Syria Pavilion. The drones will fly in the sky above that part of the park. If you can see that patch of sky with nothing in the way, you have a good spot.

Your spot for the Diwali drone show
📍STANDOpen ground near the Stunt Arena and the Syria Pavilion
⏰ARRIVEInside the park by 7pm, in your spot by 7.30pm
👀LOOKUp at the sky over the Stunt Arena, with no roof or big ride in front of you
🚫AVOIDCovered walkways, narrow lanes and the spots right under the pavilion walls
👨‍👩‍👧KIDSAgree on a meeting point before 8pm
🚌GOING HOMEWait 20 to 30 minutes for the gates to clear. RTA buses run until about 11.15pm

Not sure where the Stunt Arena is? Open the park map in the Global Village app, or ask at any information desk when you come in. Walk there first, before you start on the food stalls.

The drones fly high, so you don't need to be right under them. In fact, a spot a little further back is often better. You see the whole picture at once, and you are out of the tightest part of the crowd. What blocks your view is a roof, a tall ride or a pavilion wall, so step out from under them.

A few things make the night easier:

  • Get there early. Diwali night is one of the busiest nights of the season. Aim to be through the gates by 7pm, because the car parks fill up first.
  • Keep the children close. Thousands of people will look up at the same moment. It is easy to lose a small child, so pick a meeting point you can all find.
  • Film a little, then watch. Record the first minute, then put the phone down. The show looks much better in the sky than on a screen.
  • Leave a little later. Everyone heads for the gates at the same time after the show. Have some chaat or a sweet and wait 20 to 30 minutes.

Diwali at Global Village, 6 to 10 November

The drone show is one night of five. Global Village will celebrate Diwali from Friday 6 to Tuesday 10 November, and your entry ticket covers all of it. Here is what is planned:

  • Friday 6 November: the park's first-ever baithak, a South Asian music evening where you sit and sing along, on the Main Stage from 8pm to 9pm, with City FM
  • Saturday 7 November: games with prizes for visitors
  • Sunday 8 November: the 600-drone show at 8pm
  • All five days: a Diwali mela (fair) with the India Pavilion, selling decorations, gifts, snacks and sweets
  • All five days: a Kids Corner with diya colouring, rangoli and face painting
  • All five days: Indian food at Indian Chef, Grand Dhaba and the Indian Chaat Bazaar, a food street styled like an Indian wedding

Lamp posts along World Avenue will be dressed up for Diwali, and "Happy Diwali" signs will be set up for photos. Global Village has not announced Diwali fireworks this year. The drones are the big show. For fireworks at other places, see Diwali fireworks in Dubai. For everything else on across the city, see Diwali celebrations in Dubai.

Last Year's Diwali at Global Village

Global Village marked Diwali with fireworks last year, not drones. This is what happened in 2025.

Diwali fell on Monday 20 October 2025. Global Village held four Diwali fireworks shows, all at 9pm, on Saturday 18, Sunday 19, Friday 24 and Saturday 25 October.

The India Pavilion was the heart of it. A team of women worked on a large rangoli through the festival week. Stalls sold saris, Kashmiri handwork and gold-plated jewellery from about AED 100 to AED 500. It drew big crowds in the evenings.

Global Village posted this short clip after its Diwali week in 2025:

Global Village Tickets and Transport on Diwali Night

The drone show is free, but you need a Global Village entry ticket, and on a Sunday it costs AED 30. Global Village charges its weekend rate on Sundays this season. The cheaper AED 25 weekday ticket works from Monday to Thursday, so it is a good pick for the mela on 9 or 10 November, but not for the drone show. Children under 3, adults over 65 and people of determination go in free.

You can buy your ticket on the Global Village website or app, or at the gate. Buying online saves you a queue on a busy night. Our guide to Global Village tickets explains every ticket type.

Global Village is on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, in Dubailand. There is no Metro station at the park, but four RTA bus routes go there:

  • Route 102 from Al Rashidiya Bus Station, every 60 minutes
  • Route 103 from Union Bus Station, every 40 minutes
  • Route 104 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, every 60 minutes
  • Route 106 from Mall of the Emirates Bus Station, every 60 minutes

The buses usually run from about 3.15pm to 11.15pm. Driving? Most car parks are free. VIP parking near the gate costs AED 200 a day, and other paid areas cost AED 75 to AED 120. Our guides to the bus and Metro to Global Village and Global Village parking have the details.

Another Drone Show at Global Village This Week

Can't make it on Sunday? Global Village will hold a drone show for UAE Flag Day on Tuesday 3 November, also at 8pm. It is reported as a bigger show, with 1,000 drones in the red, green, white and black of the UAE flag. You will get a free UAE flag at the gate, and the AED 25 weekday ticket works that night. Our guide to UAE Flag Day has the rest of the day.

After Diwali, the next big drone shows in Dubai are expected with the Dubai Shopping Festival, which runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. Its drone show venue and times have not been announced yet.
