Diwali gold offers in the UAE for 2026 include zero or lower making charges, free gold coins and bars, zero deduction on old gold exchange, and gold rate locks from a 9% advance. Most end on 8 November. In Dubai, the Diwali Gold Rush gives one draw entry per AED 1,500 spent, with 1kg of gold to be won.
Dubai's jewellers have announced their Diwali gold offers for 2026, and most of them run until Sunday 8 November. Joyalukkas is giving free gold bars, Jawhara has dropped making charges on gold, and Malabar is selling 8g coins with no making charge. The Diwali Gold Rush is on across the city until 12 November, as part of the wider Diwali in Dubai season, with 1kg of gold to be won.
Diwali Gold Offers in Dubai
This guide gives you 13 Diwali gold deals this year: the citywide Diwali Gold Rush draw and 12 jewellers with a Diwali or Dhanteras offer. For each one you get the offer, the dates, the stores and how to claim it. After the list come a side-by-side table and our pick for each kind of buyer. At the end you'll find how the gold rate works on Dhanteras, where to shop, VAT, and how much gold you can carry to India.
Check today's gold rate before you shop
The gold price in Dubai changes several times a day. See the latest 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K rates on our Dubai gold rate page, which always shows today's rate. Every offer on this page is added on top of that rate.
How did we order them? The Diwali Gold Rush comes first, because one bill at any of 178 shops gives you a chance to win gold. Then come the jeweller offers that save you the most on the gold itself: no making charge, free gold and full value for old gold. Rate locks and gifts come after. This is our own view of the value to you, and the best one still depends on what you buy.
1. Diwali Gold Rush 2026, 178 Shops Across Dubai
The Diwali Gold Rush is a free prize draw for people who buy jewellery in Dubai during Diwali. You don't buy a ticket. Your jewellery bill is your ticket. Dubai Jewellery Group runs it with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, as part of the city's Festival of Lights.
It works like this. Every AED 1,500 you spend on jewellery at a participating shop gives you one entry. So a bill of AED 4,500 gives you three entries, and one bill can give you up to 100. You still get the shop's own Diwali offer on top.
What you can win:
- Dhanteras draw: five winners get 100g of 22K gold each. The draw is on Saturday 7 November, for bills from 24 October to 6 November.
- Grand draw: one winner gets 500g of 22K gold. The draw is on Monday 16 November, for bills from 24 October to 12 November.
How to take part:
- Check that the shop is on the list. Open the Gold Rush page and look for the shop's name before you buy. 178 shops from 66 brands are taking part.
- Buy your jewellery and keep the bill. It must be AED 1,500 or more to get an entry.
- Scan the Gold Rush QR code at the shop counter with your phone. It takes you to the entry page.
- Upload a clear photo of your bill.
- Wait for the email. It gives you your coupon numbers, one for each AED 1,500.
Buy by Friday 6 November and each coupon goes into both draws. Bills from 7 to 12 November go into the grand draw only. UAE nationals, residents and tourists can all enter with a valid ID.
The winners will be named on the Gold Rush page within 14 working days of each draw, and the team will call or email them. Keep your bill until then.
Not every jeweller is in it. Joyalukkas, Malabar, Tanishq and Damas are not on the list of participating shops, so their bills do not count. Most of the list is smaller jewellers, many of them in Bur Dubai, Karama and Al Qusais.
2. Jawhara Jewellery
Jawhara is a UAE jewellery chain with shops in almost every big Dubai mall and in the Gold Souk. For Diwali, it is taking the making charge off gold jewellery and gold coins. The making charge is the fee for turning gold into a finished piece. It often adds 6% to 25% to the price, so this is the biggest saving on plain gold we have seen this year.
The offer may not cover every design, so ask the staff before you choose. Your bill also gives you entries into the Gold Rush draw.
3. Joyalukkas
Joyalukkas is one of the biggest Indian jewellers in the Gulf, with stores in every emirate. Its Diwali campaign is called Joywali Diwali. You get a free 24K gold bar when you spend on diamond or gemstone jewellery, starting with a half-gram bar at AED 5,000.
This offer works best for diamond buyers. For plain gold you need to spend AED 35,000 to get a 1g bar. So if you are buying gold, the 0% deduction on old gold or the 8g coin without a making charge may help you more.
4. Malabar Gold & Diamonds
Malabar Gold & Diamonds is one of the largest Indian jewellery chains in the UAE. Its offer is a good fit if you are swapping old jewellery for new, because it takes nothing off the value of your old 22K gold. The 8g coins come without a making charge too. That suits families who buy a coin every Dhanteras.
The rate lock asks for a bigger advance than most, 25%. In return, you still get the lower price if gold falls before you collect.
5. Tanishq
Tanishq is the jewellery brand of India's Tata Group. It gives the best deal on old gold this Diwali: full value, plus up to AED 15 extra for every gram. Do you have a box of old chains and earrings at home? Ten grams could bring you up to AED 150 more than a normal exchange.
The 20% rate lock is useful if you have chosen a piece but want to collect it nearer Diwali.
6. Bafleh Jewellery
Bafleh is a Dubai jeweller with shops in Meena Bazaar, the Gold Souk and several hypermarkets. It asks for the smallest advance to lock the gold rate, just 9%. On top of that, you get instant cashback on the bill.
Bafleh also sells 24K coins and bars. That is handy if you want a coin rather than jewellery this Dhanteras.
7. Kanz Jewels
Kanz takes the whole making charge off selected jewellery, so on those pieces you pay for the gold and VAT only. The offer covers chosen designs, not the whole store.
Ask to see the offer pieces first. Then compare their price with a normal piece of the same weight, so you can see the real saving.
8. Thangals Jewellery, Gold Souk
Thangals is a family jeweller in old Dubai, with most of its shops around the Gold Souk and Meena Bazaar. It sells 4g and 8g gold coins with no making charge. These are the two sizes many families buy on Dhanteras. The 4g coin lets you keep the custom without a big bill.
9. Senco Gold & Diamonds
Senco is an Indian jeweller from Kolkata, known for Bengali bridal designs. Its two Dubai shops take 25% off making charges and half off select diamond and polki pieces. Polki is an uncut diamond set in gold. It gives a traditional look that many people wear for weddings and festivals.
10. Damas
Damas is a UAE jeweller with stores in most big malls. Its Diwali campaign is called Where Every Light Tells a Story. You get a 1g gold coin for every AED 5,000 you spend on diamonds. That is a fair reward on a diamond gift. On plain gold, the gift is a candle, so other jewellers on this list give you more on gold.
11. Meralda Jewels
Meralda Jewels is a Dubai brand of gold and diamond jewellery. Spend more than AED 4,999 and you get free gold coins. Every AED 2,500 also gives you a chance in its own draw for a diamond necklace. The offer runs two days past Diwali, until 10 November.
12. Bhima Jewellers
Bhima is a jeweller from Kerala with a showroom on Cosmos Lane in Meena Bazaar. Its Deepavali offer is a simple rate lock for a 10% advance. It suits you if you have already chosen a piece and want to pay the rest closer to the festival.
13. Meena Jewellers, Meena Bazaar
Meena Jewellers is an old name in Bur Dubai's Meena Bazaar. Every qualifying gold purchase comes with a guaranteed gift, so you do not need luck in a draw. The gifts range from gadgets to personalised gold bars. Meena has not published the spend for each gift, so ask before you buy.
Diwali Gold Offers Compared
No single jeweller wins on everything. Jawhara and Kanz cut the making charge, Joyalukkas and Malabar add free gold, and Tanishq pays the most for old gold. The table puts all 12 jeweller offers in one place.
Which Diwali Gold Offer Is Best for You?
It depends on what you are buying and whether you have old gold to trade in. Here is our pick for each kind of buyer, with its number in the list above:
More Diwali Gold Offers in Dubai
Many smaller jewellers in the Gold Rush are also taking 50% off making charges on select pieces. They are mostly in Bur Dubai, Karama and Al Qusais. These shops list the biggest making-charge cut on the Gold Rush page:
- Al Damani Jewellery: near Mall of the Emirates, Al Barsha 1
- Anaswara Jewellery: Sheikh Colony, Al Qusais
- Arakkal Gold & Diamonds: Meena Bazaar and the Dubai Gold District
- Indrana Jewellery: Al Barsha 1
- J.J & Sons: Cosmos Lane, Bur Dubai
- Kavitha Gold & Diamonds: UW Mall, Al Mankhool

Dhanteras Gold Rate in Dubai
Dhanteras 2026 is on Friday 6 November. Many Hindu families buy gold, silver or a new metal item that day, because they believe it brings wealth and good luck into the home for the year.
There is one gold rate for the whole city. Dubai Jewellery Group sets the official retail rate several times a day, and every shop, from the souk to the mall, starts from it. Check the latest rate on our Dubai gold rate page before you leave home. It shows today's price a gram for 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold.
The rate on your bill is the rate at the time you pay. So the Dhanteras rate will only be known on the day. If you want to fix a price now, the rate-lock offers above do that for an advance of 9% to 25%.
Gold Souk or Mall: Where to Buy Diwali Gold in Dubai
The gold costs the same in the souk and the mall. The making charge is what changes.
The Deira Gold Souk, the Dubai Gold District and Meena Bazaar in Bur Dubai have hundreds of small shops side by side. You can walk from one to the next and compare. You can also ask for a lower making charge, and many shops will agree, especially on plain 22K pieces. Most of the Gold Rush shops are here.
Mall stores belong to the big brands, such as Joyalukkas, Malabar, Tanishq and Damas. Prices are fixed, but the brands run the biggest festival offers, and you can usually exchange or service a piece at any of their branches in the UAE.
VAT is 5% on jewellery, and it applies to the full price of the piece, the gold and the making charge together. Gold bars and coins of 99% purity or more count as investment gold and are zero-rated, so they carry no VAT. Visitors on a tourist visa can claim most of the VAT back at the airport through the Planet tax-free scheme. Ask the shop for a tax-free invoice when you pay. UAE residents cannot claim this refund.
How Much Gold Can You Carry from the UAE to India?
A woman can carry 40 grams of gold jewellery into India duty-free, and a man 20 grams. This applies only if you are an Indian resident or a person of Indian origin who has lived abroad for more than one year. The limit is by weight only. India removed the old value caps when its new Baggage Rules started on 2 February 2026. You can read the CBIC traveller guide for the full rules.
Here is what else you should know:
- Lived abroad for less than a year? You get no separate jewellery allowance. New jewellery counts towards the general duty-free allowance of ₹75,000.
- Gold coins and bars are not part of any duty-free allowance. Declare them and pay duty.
- More than the limit? Declare it at Indian customs before you go through, and pay the duty. You can also file the declaration online before you land.
- Keep your bills. Carry the original invoice from your Dubai jeweller in your hand luggage.
Going the other way, from India to the UAE? The UAE has no duty-free weight limit for personal jewellery. But you must declare cash, jewellery and precious metals worth more than AED 60,000 in total, when you enter or leave the UAE. You can do it online or in the Afseh app.
Things to Keep in Mind Before You Buy Diwali Gold
A few checks will help you get what you pay for:
- Know your carat. 24K is almost pure gold. It is soft, so it is used for coins and bars. 22K (also called 916) is the usual choice for Indian jewellery. 18K is harder and is used for diamond settings.
- Look for the hallmark. Every piece sold in Dubai should be stamped with its purity, such as 916 for 22K or 750 for 18K.
- Ask for a full bill. It should show the weight, the carat, the gold rate, the making charge and the VAT on separate lines. You need it for exchange, insurance and customs.
- Check the exchange terms. "Zero deduction" means the shop counts the full weight of your old gold. Ask whether the offer covers only 22K, and whether the old piece must be from that brand.
- Read the small print. Most offers cover select pieces only, and many cannot be combined with each other. Spend amounts are often before VAT.
