Bikanervala is a big Delhi sweet brand, and it has 20 shops in Dubai, so there is probably one near you. It has the widest choice of ready Diwali boxes in Dubai, and you can order any of them online for delivery the next day. The new range went online on 29 October. The sweet boxes are all mithai. The hampers mix a few sweets with nuts, savoury snacks and mukhwas, the mouth freshener served after meals.
It is our top pick because every price is on its website and the shops are everywhere. Order early in the week. Last year, the brand closed dining at some shops for four to five days before Diwali, just to keep up with sweet orders.

Where to Buy Diwali Faral in Dubai
Faral is the plate of homemade snacks and sweets that Maharashtrian families make for Diwali and share with guests. It usually has chakli, a crisp spiral made from rice and lentil flour. There is karanji, a fried pastry filled with coconut, and chivda, a spicy mix of flattened rice. Besan ladoo, a sweet ball of gram flour and ghee, finishes the plate.
Regal Plus is the easiest place to buy a full Diwali faral in Dubai. It sells all four:
Karanji (Diwali special): AED 24.95 for 8 pieces
Bhajani chakli: AED 32.50 for 500 g
Mahalaxmi chivda: AED 44.50 a kilo
Besan ladoo, Maharashtrian style: AED 99 a kilo
You can order these on its website, or pick them up at the shops in Bur Dubai, Discovery Gardens and Al Nahda. Kamat Sweets also sells chivda, bhakarwadi, shakkar para and besan laddoo by the kilo. How to Order Indian Sweets in Time for Diwali
Diwali night is Sunday 8 November. Order your sweets by Friday 6 November, and earlier for hampers or anything made to order. None of these shops has published a Diwali cut-off date, so plan with these points:
Website orders take a day. Bikanervala delivers the next day, and Kamat Sweets needs 24 hours. Saturday 7 November is the last day to order for Diwali.
Made-to-order gifts need more time. Haldiram's custom platters, MyGovindas hampers and Meethi Reet's custom hampers are made on request. Ask for a date when you order.
Expect queues on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November. Karama and Meena Bazaar get the busiest. Call the shop the day before, place your order and ask them to keep it packed for you.
