1. Into the Jungle Halloween Brunch, Palazzo Versace, Al Jaddaf

Into the Jungle is a family brunch at the Palazzo Versace hotel, and its Halloween edition will run on two days. No other brunch in Dubai has planned as much for children. There will be a spooky magic show, a Maleficent performance, dancers dressed as monkeys, a giraffe and an elephant (large walking puppets), balloon animals, face painting, crafts and a mini-chef corner. Brunch guests can also use the pool.

It is one of the more expensive brunches, and the deposit isn't refundable. Only outdoor tables are left for Saturday, so book Sunday 1 November if you would like to sit inside.

2. Trick or Treat Brunch, Brasserie by McGettigan's, Expo City

Brasserie by McGettigan's is an Irish pub and restaurant at Expo City. Its Halloween brunch will be the best deal for families in Dubai, because one child eats free with each paying adult. Two parents and two children will pay just AED 358 in total with soft drinks. Children will get trick or treating and games, and Expo City has plenty of open space for them to run around.

The brunch starts at 2pm, an hour later than most. That suits families whose toddlers nap after lunch.

3. Halloween Hauntfest, Jumeirah Golf Estates

Hauntfest will be more like a Halloween fair with a buffet than a sit-down brunch. There will be a haunted maze with actors dressed as zombies and mummies, a stand where children can get zombie make-up, slime and craft tables, games, two large bouncy castles and an inflatable obstacle ride. Popcorn and candy floss will be free all evening.

It starts at 5pm, so you can go trick or treating in the afternoon first. The venue hasn't given a price for four-year-olds, so ask when you book.

4. Spook-tacular Carnival Brunch, Palm Kitchen, Taj Exotica, Palm Jumeirah

Palm Kitchen is the main restaurant at the Taj Exotica beach resort on the Palm. If you buy the voucher online, you will pay 25% less, which makes this the cheapest five-star brunch on the Palm this Halloween. There will be activities for all ages, and the best-dressed family will win another Carnival Brunch, so it's worth dressing up together.

If you can't go on the day, you can use the voucher for a normal Carnival Brunch within three months. The hotel hasn't said which ages pay the children's price, so ask when you book.

5. Addams Family Halloween Brunch, ZIYA, Anantara Downtown

ZIYA is a restaurant at the Anantara hotel in Business Bay. Its Halloween brunch will have an Addams Family theme, so everyone in the family can dress as a character. There will be prizes for the best-dressed man and the best-dressed woman, and live entertainment.

Children aged 5 and under eat free, so it's good value for families with young children. It's the best family brunch in the Downtown and Business Bay area.

6. Spooktacular Halloween Brunch, Liwan, Swissôtel Al Ghurair, Deira

Liwan is the buffet restaurant at the Swissôtel in Al Ghurair Centre. For AED 159 per adult, this brunch will include more Halloween activities for children than most brunches that cost twice as much. Children can paint pumpkins, have their faces painted, go trick or treating and join a cooking class. There will also be a prize for the best-dressed family.

It's the nearest family brunch for people coming from Sharjah. Some deal websites sell it for less, so compare prices before you book directly.

7. Día de los Muertos Dinner, Casa Playa, Banyan Tree, Bluewaters

Casa Playa is a Mexican restaurant on the beach at Bluewaters. On Halloween night it will hold a Day of the Dead dinner, for the Mexican festival that falls at the same time as Halloween. There will be fire dancers, a mariachi band and face painting. The hotel's kids' club will stay open until 10pm, so adults can enjoy dinner while the children play.

This is the best choice if you'd like an evening meal rather than a lunchtime brunch. Costumes are welcome.

8. Halloween Breakfast with a Magic Show, Reform Social & Grill, The Lakes

Reform Social & Grill is a British-style restaurant in The Lakes. Instead of a lunch brunch, it will hold a Halloween breakfast with a magic show. It will be finished by late morning, so toddlers can be home for their nap and you'll still have the rest of the day free.

Now the next four are the best brunches for only adults, nothing specific is in these forkids.

9. Vampire Tide More Than Brunch, Sexy Fish, DIFC

Sexy Fish is a Japanese-style restaurant in DIFC. For Halloween, it will be decorated in blood red, and performers will move around the tables during the brunch. The food will be the restaurant's usual sushi and sharing plates. If you want to stay longer, there will be DJs, dancers and costumed characters from 6pm.

10. Curse of the Desert Halloween Brunch, CÉ LA VI, Downtown

CÉ LA VI is a restaurant and bar on the 54th floor of Address Sky View, facing the Burj Khalifa. Choose this brunch if the view matters most to you. The menu will be modern Asian. CÉ LA VI will also hold a Halloween party on Friday 30 October from 10pm.

11. The Haunted Brunch, Lucky Voice, Barsha Heights

Lucky Voice is a karaoke bar. Its Halloween brunch will be the cheapest party brunch with a big costume prize: the best costume wins prizes worth AED 2,000. Guests will sing karaoke in their costumes, and there will be a DJ and a Halloween drinks menu. Lucky Voice will also hold an evening brunch on the same day.

12. Halloween Evening Brunch, Treehouse, Taj Dubai

Treehouse is a rooftop bar at the Taj Dubai hotel in Business Bay. Its Halloween brunch will be on the Friday evening, so it's the best choice if your Saturday is already busy. Food and drinks will be unlimited, and if you come in a group of five, you'll pay for four.
