Is Global Village Open Today? Dates It Is Closed in 2026 and 2027 for Season 31

Is Global Village Open Today?

You can check any date in the same way: if the date is between 14 October 2026 and the end of the season in May 2027, Global Village is open that day, from 4pm. This guide gives the dates when Global Village is closed in 2026 and 2027, when the season ends, the opening hours for each day, the five reasons it has closed in the past, and what to do when it closes without notice.

Which Dates Is Global Village Closed in 2026 and 2027?

Global Village is closed until Tuesday 13 October 2026, and it closes again for the summer in May 2027, on a day that has not been announced. For the months in between, Global Village has not published any closed dates.

This table lists the same dates in order:

So Global Village has no planned closed days during the season. Its official opening hours cover all seven days of the week, and public holidays too. Global Village is open on Tuesdays as well, but not to everyone: Tuesdays are for families, couples and ladies, unless the Tuesday is a public holiday.

The only long closure is the summer. Global Village is mostly outdoors, so it closes when the hot months begin. The opening date of the next season has not been announced. The last five seasons, counting this one, all opened in October, between the 14th and the 25th.

When Does Global Village Close for the Season in 2027?

Global Village has said only that Season 31 ends in May 2027, and it has not announced the last day. Its website gives the season dates as 14 October 2026 to May 2027, and Khaleej Times reported in September that the end date had not been specified yet.

In past seasons, the first closing date that Global Village announced was usually not the real last day:

Four of the last five seasons were extended after the closing date was first announced. Season 28 was extended twice.

Global Village often announces the extra days very late. In both 2025 and 2026, it announced the extension on the day the season was due to end. A season can also end earlier than announced, because the ticket terms say the season dates can change "as circumstances require".

So do not leave your visit for the last weekend of the season. If you have entry tickets or a Wonder Pass (the points card that pays for rides), use them well before the end of May. Tickets and Wonder Pass points are valid only until the last day of the season.

What Time Does Global Village Open and Close?

Global Village opens at 4pm every day. It closes at 12am (midnight) from Sunday to Wednesday and at 1am from Thursday to Saturday and on public holidays.

The entry gates close half an hour before the park does. That means the last entry is at 11:30pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and at 12:30am from Thursday to Saturday and on public holidays. On opening night, Wednesday 14 October 2026, the gates open at 6pm and not at 4pm.

5 Reasons Global Village Closes, With the Days It Happened

Global Village plans to open every day of the season, but over the years it has closed for five different reasons. Here is each reason, with the dates when Global Village closed because of it.

1. Heavy rain, storms and strong winds

Bad weather is the one reason Global Village can close on the same day you plan to go. It is an open-air park, so when a storm is forecast it stays closed for the evening and says so on its social media accounts. The most recent weather closure was on Thursday 18 December 2025. The notice went up on Instagram that day, and the next afternoon an Instagram story said, "We welcome you today from 4pm".

Most weather closures last one day, like that one. The longest weather closure in recent years began at 8pm on Wednesday 25 January 2023, when visitors who were already inside were guided out. Global Village reopened on Friday 27 January.

2. The summer

The summer closure happens every year, so you can plan for it. Global Village is mostly outdoors and Dubai's summer is too hot for an outdoor park, so each season ends in April or May and the next one begins in October. This year Global Village was closed for the summer from 1 June to 13 October 2026.

3. A public health emergency

On Sunday 15 March 2020, Global Village ended Season 24 immediately, as a precaution against Covid-19. The season had been due to run until 4 April, and the Dubai Media Office announced the early closure on Twitter. The park did not open again until the next season.

4. A security precaution

Last season Global Village was closed from 28 February to 19 April 2026. It described this as a precautionary safety measure in line with official guidance. The first notices covered a day or two at a time, and later ones said "until further notice". The gates reopened on Monday 20 April at 5pm, after 51 days.

5. Official mourning

In January 2006, after the death of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, Global Village's director told Khaleej Times that it would be closed for three days. He said he hoped it would reopen that Saturday.

This table shows the five reasons together, with each closure and its date:

Can Global Village Close Without Notice?

Yes, Global Village can close for a day without warning. A weather closure gives you the least warning, because Global Village announces it on the same day. Its terms say it may change opening times or stop shows and rides for safety reasons "without prior notice".

If rain or a storm is forecast, check these three places before you leave home:

1. Open the official Instagram account, @globalvillageuae, and read the newest post. Past closure notices said either "will remain closed for today" or "closed until further notice".
2. Look at the official website, globalvillage.ae. The homepage shows whether Global Village is open or closed, just under the season dates.
3. Check the Global Village Dubai app. Global Village also lists the app as a place where it posts updates.

You do not lose your ticket if Global Village is closed. Entry tickets are not for a fixed date, so you can use an unused ticket on another day this season. The Global Village terms say that after a full-day closure you can reschedule your visit. If you cannot come on another day, you can ask for a refund, and each request is reviewed case by case. To ask, write to guest.support@globalvillage.ae or call +971 4 362 4114.
