Quick answer

The main public Ganesh Chaturthi celebration in Dubai in 2026 is the Shree Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav at Hindu Temple Dubai, Jebel Ali, from 14 to 25 September — twelve days of poojas, jaaps and aartis, a Shree Ganesh Havan and a Bhajan Sandhya in the Community Hall. Entry is free and open to all. Good to know

Dubai has no street pandals — that is why the list is short In the UAE a public religious gathering has to happen inside a licensed place of worship or a venue booked by a registered organiser, so there is nothing to wander into on a residential street. Everything public is in the table above. Everything else happens inside homes and towers, by invitation.

The temple is using a 100% eco-friendly, biodegradable Ganesha murti and asks visitors to do the same

This is the largest Hindu place of worship in Dubai, opened in October 2022, with sixteen deities including Ganesha. Since January 2024 it has also housed the Shiva Mandir and the Gurudwara that used to sit in the old Bur Dubai temple lane, which is why its festival footfall is the heaviest in the emirate.

The temple runs a fixed weekly aarti schedule on top of the Ganesh Utsav programme. The regular Shree Ganesh Aarti is on Tuesdays at 8:00 AM — useful if you want a Ganesh-specific darshan rather than a crowded festival evening.

Check before you go

Parking, not the queue, is the constraint The on-site car park fills well before evening aarti on 14, 19, 20 and 25 September. Either arrive before 6 PM or park in the Jebel Ali Village overflow area and walk. Ride-hailing out of Jebel Ali Village after 9 PM is slow — book the return before the aarti ends.

Shree Krishna Haveli, Bur Dubai

This is the Ganesh Chaturthi darshan you can reach by metro

The Shrinathji Haveli behind the Grand Mosque in Al Fahidi is what is left of the historic Bur Dubai temple complex and the only temple in the city you can reach without a car — about a ten-minute walk from Al Fahidi metro station through Meena Bazaar [which is also the best place to buy garlands, durva, modak and puja samagri on the way in].

On Ganesh Chaturthi mornings this lane has historically filled from around 4:30 AM.

Building and villa-community Ganesh mandaps in Dubai

Most of Dubai’s Ganeshotsav happens where you cannot search for it: one family installs the murti in a flat or a tower community room, neighbours come for evening aarti, and by the third night there are thirty people in a living room. These are private and invitation-only. Four things reliably get you in:

  • Ask in your building or community WhatsApp group — this is where almost every invitation comes from.
  • Check the tower lobby notice board from around 10 September.
  • Ask the shop you buy puja samagri from in Karama or Meena Bazaar. They know who is hosting.
  • Follow @trivikramdholtasha, Dubai’s dhol-tasha pathak. They post which Ganesh Utsav events they are playing at, which is a fast way to find the mandaps that are actually running.

Ganesh Chaturthi Events in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has the largest Ganesh Chaturthi congregation in the country. At BAPS Hindu Mandir the sthapana ceremony has drawn around nine thousand devotees in a single day, the programme is run jointly with Maharashtra Mandal Abu Dhabi and the Triveni Adhyatmik Samitee, and the immersion is performed on the mandir’s own Swaminarayan Ghat. Entry is free but registration is mandatory and unregistered visitors are turned away; carry your Emirates ID or passport.

Check before you go

BAPS Hindu Mandir is normally closed on Mondays — and sthapana falls on a Monday Standard hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM to 8 PM, closed Mondays. Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 falls on Monday 14 September. Festival days are often an exception, but confirm on mandir.ae or +971 2 556 1982 before driving ninety minutes.

The community event to register for is the Maharashtra Mandal Abu Dhabi Ganeshotsav cultural programme on Saturday 19 September — lezim, shobha yatra, dance performances and bhajan, open to participants aged ten and above, with volunteers also being called for. Register through mmabudhabi.com/mmad-events or contact connect@mmabudhabi.com and +971 50 404 2050. The hall is announced separately, so confirm it when you register.

Ganesh Chaturthi Events in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates

There is no Hindu temple in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah.

Celebration there is home-based and hall-based, and anyone wanting temple darshan drives into Dubai — roughly 20 to 30 minutes from Al Nahda to Bur Dubai off-peak, about an hour to Jebel Ali. Regional associations book community halls for festival evenings; Indian Association Sharjah is the main hall operator and the usual starting point for finding one.

Best Times to Visit a Dubai Temple During Ganesh Chaturthi 2026

  • Quietest darshan of the whole festival: any weekday between 16 and 23 September, 12 noon to 4 PM.
  • Most atmosphere: the evening of Monday 14 September — and the most crowded slot too.
  • With children or elderly parents: go on a weekday afternoon, park once and stay, carry water. Avoid evening aarti on 14, 19, 20 and 25 September entirely.
  • Without a car: Al Fahidi metro to Shree Krishna Haveli. Meena Bazaar parking is effectively impossible on festival evenings.

Ganesh Chaturthi Events in Dubai 2026: FAQs

Where can I celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in Dubai in 2026?

Three public options are confirmed in Dubai. Hindu Temple Dubai in Jebel Ali Village is holding the Shree Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav from 14 to 25 September 2026, with daily poojas, jaaps and aartis, a Shree Ganesh Havan and a Bhajan Sandhya in its Community Hall; entry is free and the temple is open daily 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM. Seek & Settle Che Bappa is a five-day public mandap from 14 to 18 September at Office 2203, Al Shafar Tower 1, Barsha Heights, near Dubai Internet City metro. Gujarati Samaj UAE is holding its Ganpati Festival on the evening of 14 September at Grand Excelsior Al Mankhool, Sea Room, Floor 1. Shree Krishna Haveli in Al Fahidi, Bur Dubai also holds extended festival darshan.

Is there a Ganpati pandal in Dubai?

Not in the Indian street sense. In the UAE a public religious gathering must be inside a licensed place of worship or a venue booked by a registered organiser, so there is no open-air neighbourhood pandal. The closest equivalent in 2026 is Seek & Settle Che Bappa in Barsha Heights, a five-day mandap running 14 to 18 September with an open invitation and daily aarti, plus the temple utsav at Hindu Temple Dubai.

What are the Hindu Temple Dubai Ganesh Chaturthi timings in 2026?

The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM and the Shree Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav runs 14 to 25 September 2026. On its regular weekly schedule, Shree Ganesh Aarti is on Tuesdays at 8:00 AM, with Shiva aarti at 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM every day and Rehraas Sahib and Ardaas at 6:45 PM. The Ganesh Utsav poojas, the havan and the bhajan sandhya sit on top of that and are announced day by day on the temple’s Instagram, @hindutempledubai. The temple’s number is 054 584 2951.

Do I need to book or register for a Ganesh Chaturthi event in Dubai?

Not for Dubai temples. Hindu Temple Dubai and Shree Krishna Haveli are free walk-ins with no ticket. Seek & Settle Che Bappa and the Gujarati Samaj UAE evening are open invitations. Registration is required for the Indian Brahmin Community UAE Ganpati Mohatsav on 14 September, for the Maharashtra Mandal Abu Dhabi cultural programme on 19 September, and for BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, where advance online booking and a valid Emirates ID or passport are mandatory and unregistered visitors are refused entry.

What is the best time to visit a Dubai temple during Ganesh Chaturthi 2026?

A weekday afternoon between roughly 12 noon and 4 PM is the quietest window of the whole festival. The hardest slots are evening aarti on Monday 14 September, Saturday 19 September, Sunday 20 September and Friday 25 September. If you want the atmosphere of a packed evening go on 14 September and plan your parking; if you want a calm darshan go between 16 and 23 September in the early afternoon.

Is there a Ganesh Chaturthi event in Sharjah in 2026?

There is no Hindu temple in Sharjah or anywhere in the Northern Emirates, so Ganesh Chaturthi there is celebrated at home and in booked community halls rather than at a temple. Indian Association Sharjah is the main hall operator and the usual starting point. Residents who want temple darshan drive into Dubai: Bur Dubai is roughly 20 to 30 minutes from Al Nahda off-peak and Jebel Ali around an hour.

What happens at BAPS Hindu Mandir Abu Dhabi for Ganesh Chaturthi?

BAPS Hindu Mandir runs the largest Ganesh Chaturthi programme in the UAE. Its sthapana ceremony has drawn around nine thousand devotees in a single day, the programme runs with Maharashtra Mandal Abu Dhabi and the Triveni Adhyatmik Samitee, and the concluding immersion takes place at the mandir’s own Swaminarayan Ghat. Entry is free but registration at visit.mandir.ae is mandatory. Note that the mandir is normally closed on Mondays and Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 falls on Monday 14 September, so confirm the day’s arrangements on +971 2 556 1982 first.

How do I find a Ganesh mandap near me in Dubai?

Building and villa-community mandaps are private and are not advertised anywhere searchable. The reliable routes are your building or community WhatsApp group, the tower lobby notice board from around 10 September, and the puja samagri shops in Karama and Meena Bazaar, whose owners know who is hosting. Following @trivikramdholtasha, Dubai’s dhol-tasha pathak, also works, because they post which Ganesh Utsav events they are performing at.

Where can I buy modak in Dubai for Ganesh Chaturthi 2026?

Ukadiche modak is made to order by Maharashtrian kitchens in Karama, Bur Dubai, Oud Metha and JLT, including Manisha’s Kitchen, Peshwa, Mumbai Social, Vasai Local and Gomantak in Al Karama, Kolhapuri Tadka in Bur Dubai, Mumbaikar’s in Oud Metha and Diva Maharashtracha in JLT. Order 48 to 72 hours ahead for 14 September because steamed modak is made fresh and the sthapana-day lists close early. Puja samagri, durva and garlands are easiest to find in Meena Bazaar and Karama.

Can I organise my own Ganesh Chaturthi event in Dubai?

A puja inside your own home needs no permission and inviting neighbours to it is normal. Anything public is different: a booked hall, a ticketed evening, amplified sound outdoors, a gathering in a public space or a procession all require approvals filed through a licensed entity, with municipality, police and civil defence clearances. For a first-time organiser the practical route is to partner with an established association that already holds the licence.
