UAE petrol and diesel prices, November 2026
Petrol and diesel prices in Dubai and across the UAE for Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus 91 and diesel. Set nationally by the UAE Fuel Price Committee and changed on the first of every month.
What changed
Every grade comes down on 1 November, the first cut to petrol since July: petrol by 5.6 per cent and diesel by just over 1 per cent.
- Special 95 AED 4.28 → 4.04 (−24 fils)
- Super 98 AED 4.40 → 4.16 (−24 fils)
- E-Plus 91 AED 4.21 → 3.97 (−24 fils)
- Diesel AED 4.80 → 4.75 (−5 fils)
It ends three monthly rises in a row. Petrol is still 75 fils a litre above July, and Special 95 is about 73 per cent above February's AED 2.33.
The committee's review tracks average global petroleum product prices plus operating and distribution costs. It is a market-linked adjustment, not a policy decision.

How UAE fuel prices are set
Fuel in the UAE was deregulated on 1 August 2015. Before that the government fixed the price; since then it tracks international markets, which is why it moves every month rather than staying still for years.
The rate is set by the Gasoline and Diesel Prices Follow-up Committee, which the UAE Government describes as "chaired by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, with the participation of relevant entities and fuel companies." It reviews prices monthly, weighing average global petroleum product prices together with operating and distribution costs, and the new rate is announced in the last days of the month for the month that follows.
Two consequences worth knowing:
- The price is national. It is identical at every station in all seven emirates. A pump in Fujairah charges what a pump in Dubai charges, so there is nothing to gain from filling up in another emirate.
- Nobody discounts it. ADNOC, ENOC and EPPCO all sell at the committee's rate. Loyalty schemes give you points, not a lower price per litre.
Petrol price in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah
The petrol price in Dubai is the UAE price. There is no Dubai rate, Abu Dhabi rate or Sharjah rate: the committee sets one price per grade for the whole country, and every ADNOC, ENOC and EPPCO station in all seven emirates charges it. The figures at the top of this page are what you pay at any pump, from Jebel Ali to Fujairah.
Which grade should you use?
Use the minimum octane your car's manufacturer specifies, which for most cars sold in the UAE is Special 95. It is printed inside the fuel filler flap and in the handbook.
Super 98 usually costs 11 to 12 fils more per litre. It delivers more only in an engine built to need it — typically high-compression performance and some European models. In an engine designed for 95, higher octane buys nothing: it does not clean the engine, add power or improve economy. E-Plus 91 is the cheapest grade but is not recommended for most modern engines.
Across a 60-litre tank the gap between 91 and 98 is under AED 12. It is rarely the place to economise; how and when you drive matters far more.
How to actually spend less
- Tyre pressure is the one free lever. Underinflated tyres raise consumption measurably, and UAE heat changes pressure often enough that a monthly check is worth it.
- Air conditioning at full blast in August is a real cost. Parking in shade so the cabin starts cooler does more than any grade of petrol.
- A roof box or roof rack left on year-round costs fuel on every trip through drag.
- Timing purchases is pointless. The price is fixed for the whole calendar month, so there is no cheaper day or cheaper hour. Filling up on the 31st only helps when the next month is going up — which is exactly what nobody knows in advance.
2026 has been an unusually volatile year
Prices this year have ranged from AED 2.33 a litre for Special 95 in February to AED 4.28 in October, a rise of about 84%. Diesel moved even harder, from AED 2.52 to AED 4.80. November brought the first cut to petrol since July, of 24 fils a litre.
The sharpest single move was April, when petrol rose 80 fils a litre in one month and diesel jumped AED 1.97 — the largest one-month change of the year, driven by Middle East supply risk. The full month-by-month record is in the history table above.
For anyone budgeting: the monthly figure is genuinely unpredictable, so a household running two cars should plan against the upper end of the year's range rather than the current month.
FAQs
What is the petrol price in UAE today?
Super 98 is AED 4.16 a litre, Special 95 is AED 4.04, E-Plus 91 is AED 3.97 and diesel is AED 4.75. These rates took effect on 1 November 2026 and apply until 30 November. Prices are identical at every station in all seven emirates.
When do UAE fuel prices change?
On the first of every month. The committee announces the new rates in the last days of the preceding month, and this page is updated the same day. The price then stays fixed for the whole calendar month.
What is the petrol price in Dubai?
The same as everywhere in the UAE. In November 2026 Super 98 is AED 4.16 a litre, Special 95 AED 4.04, E-Plus 91 AED 3.97 and diesel AED 4.75 in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates. Fuel prices are set nationally, so ADNOC, ENOC and EPPCO stations all charge the same, and there is no saving to be had by filling up in a different emirate.
Why did UAE fuel prices go down in November 2026?
Petrol fell 24 fils a litre, 5.6 per cent, and diesel 5 fils, about 1 per cent, in the rates the committee approved on 31 October. It is the first cut to petrol since July and ends three monthly rises in a row. The committee tracks average global petroleum product prices plus operating and distribution costs, so the cut follows the market rather than a policy decision.
When will the December 2026 fuel prices be announced?
In the last days of November, usually on the last day of the month, and they take effect on 1 December. This page is updated the same day the committee's rates are announced.
How much has petrol gone up in 2026?
Special 95 started the year at AED 2.42 a litre in January, fell to AED 2.33 in February, peaked at AED 4.28 in October and is AED 4.04 in November, about 67 per cent above January. The month-by-month record is in the history table above.
How much does it cost to fill a tank in the UAE?
At November 2026 rates for Special 95, a 40-litre tank costs about AED 162, a 60-litre tank about AED 242 and an 80-litre tank about AED 323. Diesel costs about AED 190 for 40 litres. Multiply the per-litre figure at the top of this page by your own tank size for an exact number.
Which petrol should I use in the UAE?
Use the minimum octane your manufacturer specifies — for most cars sold here that is Special 95, and it is printed inside the fuel filler flap. Super 98 only helps in engines built to require it; in an engine designed for 95 it adds cost and nothing else.
What is the difference between Special 95, Super 98 and E-Plus 91?
The number is the octane rating, a measure of resistance to premature combustion. Super 98 is the highest and costs about 12 fils more a litre than Special 95; E-Plus 91 is the lowest and about 7 fils less. Higher octane is not better fuel — it is fuel suited to a different engine.
Is diesel more expensive than petrol in the UAE?
Currently yes, and by a wide margin: diesel is AED 4.75 against AED 4.04 for Special 95. The two are priced separately and do not move together — in April 2026 diesel jumped AED 1.97 in a month while petrol rose 80 fils.
Who decides UAE fuel prices?
The Gasoline and Diesel Prices Follow-up Committee, chaired by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure with the participation of relevant entities and fuel companies. It reviews prices monthly against average global petroleum product prices plus operating and distribution costs. Fuel was deregulated on 1 August 2015; before then the government fixed the price.
Can I get cheaper petrol with a loyalty card in the UAE?
Not on the price per litre. The committee's rate is what every station charges, so ADNOC, ENOC and EPPCO schemes return points, vouchers or cashback rather than a discount at the pump.
Where these figures come from
There is no single government page that publishes the monthly number. The UAE Government's own energy and fuel prices page explains the mechanism and names the committee, but does not list the rate.
The rate itself reaches the public three ways, and this page checks against all of them before publishing: the committee's announcement, carried by WAM, the UAE's state news agency, and the UAE press in the last days of the preceding month, and the live pump prices shown by the two national retailers, ADNOC Distribution and ENOC. Because the price is national, those retailer pages are the closest thing to an official published figure, and they are what we reconcile against.
