Yes — UAE schools are closed tomorrow, confirmed. Distance learning runs from Tuesday 5 May to Friday 8 May 2026. The Ministry reviews the situation on Friday. Monday 9 May is unknown until then.

Schools Are Closed Tomorrow — Here Is Why

Iran launched 19 missiles and drones at UAE territory on Monday 4 May — the first attack since the 9 April ceasefire. Five emergency alerts went out to residents’ phones within three and a half hours. UAE air defences intercepted all 19 threats before any reached a populated area. The Ministry of Education responded the same night.

📋 Official Ministry Statement

“This measure is being taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the educational community. The situation will be reviewed on Friday, 8 May 2026, and the period may be extended if necessary.”

Every School Is Affected — No Exceptions

Two directives were issued simultaneously — one from the Ministry of Education covering schools and nurseries, one from the Ministry of Higher Education covering universities. Combined, the closure is total across all seven emirates.
