Dubai 24h 2026 Schedule

The event opens on Tuesday, 13 January, with teams gaining access to containers and pit boxes. This is the quiet groundwork phase: cars being assembled, garages organised, systems checked.

Wednesday, 14 January introduces the circuit properly.
Track Day sessions run morning and afternoon, allowing teams to gather baseline data. The day concludes with two moments:

  • the 24H Dubai Parade, which brings the event into public view
  • a long track walk, where drivers study kerbs, braking zones, and surface changes on foot

Thursday, 15 January continues with further Track Day running, refining setups and confirming reliability. The evening drivers’ briefing is mandatory, followed by an optional Michelin dinner, where teams exchange information and calibrate expectations.

Everything sharpens on Friday, 16 January.
Free Practice gives way to a tightly structured qualifying programme, split by class, culminating in a Top 10 Shoot-out to decide the front of the grid. A dedicated Night Practice session follows, crucial for preparing drivers and engineers for the most difficult hours of the race.

Saturday, 17 January is race day.

  • Warm-up runs late morning
  • Teams assemble in the pit lane for the official photo
  • The grid forms from noon
  • At 13:00 GST, the race begins

From that moment, the circuit does not rest.

The race runs uninterrupted through the night and into Sunday, 18 January, finishing exactly 24 hours later at 13:00 GST. Only after the chequered flag do pit boxes empty and containers close, formally drawing the event to an end that evening.

Understanding the 24H Dubai

What is the 24H Dubai?

The Michelin 24H Dubai is a continuous 24-hour motor race held at Dubai Autodrome, where cars run without interruption from start to finish. The race is won by the car that completes the most laps over the full 24 hours.

How does a car race for 24 hours straight?

Each car is shared by multiple drivers who rotate throughout the race. Cars stop regularly to refuel, change tyres, and swap drivers, but the race clock never stops. Strategy determines when to pit and who drives, not just speed.

What kinds of cars are on track?

Multiple classes race together at the same time. The fastest are GT3 cars, followed by categories such as 992 (Porsche), GT4, GTX, and TCE. Each class has its own results, but all cars share the same circuit.

What actually decides the winner?

Winning is decided by consistency over time. Mechanical reliability, clean pit stops, driver discipline, and mistake avoidance matter more than outright pace. One error late in the race can undo everything built earlier.
